libxdg-basedir-dev software package provides Implementation of the XDG Base Directory Specifications (development files), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libxdg-basedir-dev
libxdg-basedir-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libxdg-basedir-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libxdg-basedir-dev *
You will get with libxdg-basedir-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
